The smell of Paris

I have been in Paris for almost a week now, and each day I go out, there is a different smell everywhere I go.
To get around Paris, the metro is your best bet. The metro station is usually a couple minutes walk from our apartment, and in the morning the smell of freshly baked bread and coffee fill the air. In addition, Paris loves to smoke. The smell of tobacco can usually be found anywhere you go. This isn't much different from home, just here in Paris it is at much higher rate. E-ciggerates are also very popular so the smell of the different juices being used mix with the cigarets give your nose some interesting smells. Once inside the metro, as you wait for the train its not as dirty as one might think, but the smells can get pretty bad. Sewage and garbage is usually the first thing you smell, but it doesn't last long. Depending on the exit you take, the smell will always be different from the last. Today our Metro stop led straight to a farmers market. What stood out the most was the dead fish waiting to be bought to be brought home for dinner.
Most of these smells I am familiar with, and not surprised that they are similar to the smells back home. The only difference between home and Paris is, in Paris the smells are more regular. With everyday bringing in new smells, you never know what you might smell next.
